Asus ROG Phone 4 or 5: Release date, rumours and everything you need to know

We have two weeks into 2021 and will still hear about any official announcement of the gaming phone. While Black Shark and Nubia have started mocking their next phones, they may be limited to China for a while. Both calls are likely to be launched in early February in the country. ASUS has now officially launched the arrival of its next gaming phone. The company is preparing to launch its next ROG Phone, which could be called the ROG Phone 5.

The latest development comes from Weibo, where an ASUS account has revealed that its upcoming gaming phone will provide an improved feel. That said, the company did not disclose the name of its next ROG phone in this new teaser.

Recently, an ASUS phone with model number ASUS_I005DA was spotted on Geekbench 5. For those who are not aware, ROG Phone 3 has model number ASUS_I003D. Therefore, the ASUS_I005DA is expected to be the next model phone number, which can be called ROG Phone 5. Interestingly, companies like OnePlus have also skipped number '4' in their list. The number '4 'is said to be considered a bad omen in some Asian countries. So, we might be looking at the ROG Phone 5 moniker.

At Geekbench, the phone scored 1081 and 3584 points in single-core and multi-core test respectively. Qualcomm's chipset, called Lahaina with the name is enabled. This codename is associated with Qualcomm's latest and largest processor, the Spapdragon 888. Paired with 8GB of RAM and pre-loaded with Android 11 OS.

It should be noted that ROG Phone 3 was launched in July 2020. The success of ROG Phone 2 was also launched in July 2019. Therefore, we may be looking forward to the early launch of the next device. Companies like Samsung and OnePlus are promised to launch their flagship ahead of the norm in 2021, so it wouldn't be a surprise if ASUS follows suit again.

Asus announced the ROG Phone 3 in July 2020, but rumors of the next gaming phone from Asus have already taken off.

There has been an official mockery of the new phone, so here's everything you need to know about leaks and details so far. It is not yet known what the new phone will be called, but Asus could skip 4 and go straight to 5.

Release date and price

The ROG Phone 3 was launched in July 2020 but it took some time to roll out the world - it did not reach the US until October 2020.

Due to the official mockery of the new device, we know that ROG Phone 4 or 5 (name to be confirmed) will be launched soon. We suspect it may appear at MWC Shanghai in February 2021, the Chinese event lasts for a few months and the Spanish event was delayed until June.

Build and build

There has never been a leak around the construction of the next ROG phone. Given that the previous model was recently introduced, we do not expect major changes in design - and it is likely that Asus will want to continue to use the same range of accessories on both devices.

The only image we have is from a teaser, showing an axless display, which doesn’t tell us much.

Show

There have never been major leaks around the new display, but we were not expecting a major change from the previous device. That can see a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz, a 270Hz touch sample and a flat finish.

Previously the solution was Full HD + and we could expect the same on the next ROG phone.

Asus Hardware

Qualcomm Snapdragon 888

8GB RAM

The ROG Phone 4/5 is expected to work on Qualcomm's latest Hardware, the Snapdragon 888. That is to be expected from a gaming phone where it is focused on power and performance. Leaked benchmarks suggest that the Snapdragon 888 will be loaded with 8GB of RAM.

There may be step-up versions of the phone as there is a ROG Phone 3, so we can expect up to 16GB of RAM.

Previously the battery was 6000mAh and we expected this to last, as well as fast charging.

We expect this phone to launch you with Android 11.

All leaks and rumors so far

There is an explosion of all the leaks around ROG Phone 4 or 5.
